i fucking love nintendo. everyone loves the virtual console on their wii, but i love even more that it can fully double as a super gamecube. i'm sure i've written about it here before, but i have a zelda anthology from a few years back with all the console (not handheld) pre-gamecube games except for the snes one, and so i've been playing "The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time" again, and god DAMN is it big! it's map is relatively compact, and yet it's taken me weeks to get to ganon (who is so damn hard in this game...). anyway, it was really awesome to play again. now i feel like pulling out "...Windwaker" again, but i've seriously played it about 5 times. on my walk this morning i was remembering with much clarity exactly how the game begins. then there's "The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask" which i've attempted at least once and found too hard to play. i'm really bad at timed games, and so the "must complete the dungeon in 24 zelda-hours" part of majora's mask really hurt me. i'm having a similar issue with "The Legend Of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass", with all it's hourglass stuff.
k got me "Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney", and it's pretty fucking rad. i loved the hell out of "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All", and apollo justice is like a supercharged version. the phoenix wright games were great text-based-adventures, but really didn't let you do much other than click on parts of the screen to examine an area, and would only show you a picture and a description of anything you found. in apollo justice they added a 3D engine, so you can examine evidence 2π, as well as do 3D mockups of your crime theories in the courtroom. hella cool! and the writing is still just as great as ever (for instance, all the "panties" quotes i twittered).
what games are you guys liking? and which zelda should i replay next? should i go all the way to twilight princess? or should i go further in the past?

Since I have a ds now, I've been playing final fantasy 3, animal crossing and mario kart. I had phantom hourglass, but I beat it and sold it back to gamestop for moneys!

twilight princess is pretty fun. at my house, we have a gamecube version and a wii version!

woah, cool! we should have a ds-playing party sometime. i know that reg also has animal crossing, but i should buy mario kart so we can race! :)
and is the gamecube version much different from the wii version of twilight princess? i really liked the wii's controls for the game, but can imagine how the gc controls might be (mostly) better.

I wasn't much in to Twilight Princess. I mean, I was, but as soon as I turned into a wolf, I was all "lolwtf."

Patrick + Sid: You should play Zelda: Minish Cap on your DSes. It is the best Zelda since "Ocarina of Time" by a large margin, in this nerd's opinion. The hook (growing/shrinking to solve dungeons) is so cute and fun and it just keeps you playing the entire time. It was developed by Capcom, who are masters of action games, so the gameplay is tight and the animation is noticeably great, too.

I share Sid's "tried it and meh" feeling about Majora's Mask and Phantom Hourglass. Don't rush me bitches, this is ZELDA!!

i loved the wolf parts! at first it seemed sort of weird, but then i'd miss it when i was in the normal non-twilight world. in general, though, i thought twilight princess was totally worthy.
and i'll totally try minish cap! i hadn't known anyone else who'd played it. :)
