late last night / so many thoughts were running through my mind
i couldn't sleep. usually any of the sleepy antihistamines will knock me out, but no. i couldn't stop thinking about the "supernatural" episode, and couldn't stop with my killers fantasy! it's spiraling out of control into my moving down to las vegas to be their in-house producer, with a focus on making up crazy ideas and trying to killersify them. i already decided their next album will be called "sid's town" and have a cover with me doing the acid double-glasses, crouching, and throwing double vanilla-ice-posse. they're in black-n-white and i'm in oversaturated color, natch.
GALACTICA DAY! GALACTICA DAY! and unfortunately, due to my lack of sleep i will be doing no partying afterward. (unless the episode sends me reeling into sleeplessness yet again.)
oh! who saw last night's "smallville"? was it not totally comic-book awesome!? chloe looked GREAT (you should see her skin in hd, or lana's adorable little freckles!), and i fall all over myself for jude from "instant star". it really amuses me that both her and her "instant star" sister have been on 'ville. and then i finally saw the last half of the "real chance at love" finale (as i was insomniacing), and was really surprised by chance's sudden maturity and real's excellent taste. now if only the stallionaires could stop sucking...

for the past year, i've had intermittent flickering of my cable. when it started i was bound and determined to fix it myself, but no amount of changing out the coax made any effect. it was only certain stations, too, and by-and-large, they were stations that i didn't care about (vh1 bore the brunt of it), so i let the problem go on its cyclic way... but this past week it started to make the military channel inaccessible, and sci-fi was even flickering sometimes!!! so i finally made an appointment.
the dude that came was really nice and pretty quiet as he worked, and he showed me how to get to my cable box's diagnostic status screen! (you turn off the box, and really quickly hit "select".) it clearly showed that i had an snr (signal to noise ratio) that was about 27db -- totally unacceptable. the dude was great, and checked all the coax from the box completely out to the street, replacing heads of cables and full cables until he got my snr all the way up to 33db -- totally in the "good" range. and i even got a new cable box! it's so tiny; the same form factor as the old motorola "surfboard" cable modems.
now "comcastic" no longer means "craptistic" for me+kitty. and we can rest assured that Galactica Day (APRIL 4!) will be AWESOME!!
